A downloadable demo for Windows

THIS GAME IS IN EARLY ALPHA STATE AND IS IN DEVELOPMENT

Void Looper is an arcade revolving shoot-em-up bullet hell game, that started it's life as a game jam project called U.F.O offline. In Void Looper you dive into the void with your mecha and blast incoming waves of enemies, dodge bullets, collect power ups and rack up multipliers. Controls and design are super simple and easy to learn, but with loads of depth beneath the surface.

After finishing U.F.O offline, I still had some plans for the game and I made it my goal to turn this scuffed jam project into an actual game. I've been really busy with my visual communications studies, but fortunately I took the opportunity to develop this demo as a part of my thesis work. So this demo is the production part of my thesis.

This demo is a preview of a game in development. It is still missing some key features. Art assets, sound assets, gameplay mechanics, overall structure, story and difficulty are a subject to change.

Planned Features:

  • Upgrades between levels
  • Iron out some flaws with Dash mechanic
  • An Actual Storyline
  • Waaaay better UI
  • More levels with more dynamic backgrounds
  • More varied enemies
  • Two Player Mode

Feedback and suggestions are appreciated :)

Notes:

This game can be played with Keyboard , Xbox One controller and PS4 controller

You can switch between fullscreen and windowed by pressing ALT + ENTER

You can clear local high-score by holding down DELETE in title screen

Hi - fun game! Reminded me of a much, much, more intense Gyruss - an old arcade game in the 80s.

I host a podcast for indie devs  - called the Indie Dev Game Break. If you're interested in being a guest Jugi let me know and we can connect outside of here.

That unnamed bullet hell grid game I saw on twitter the other day looks amazing as well!

Cheers!

Really great game. Can't wait for future updates.

Enjoyable little demo. It took me a couple attempts to 1cc it. Do the rings around the playfield have meaning?

It did take me a few minutes to figure out I had to keep my start button pressed to start the game. I thought the game required me to press a menu button not present on my gamepad.

Thank you so much for your feedback - Really awesome to hear you 1cc it :)

The blue inner ring is combo gauge which you fill by shooting enemies- when it gets filled up you gain one score multiplier.
The outer ring is bonus timer - If you clear a wave before it runs out you gain bonus score, based off the multiplier and if the timer runs out the multiplier will reset.
